III. PREPARATION:
Gather Materials Inform children that I am adding wedges to the block area

Let the children play with the blocks, open-ended. Let them use the materials in any way they wish.

2. How does your project build on a child/children’s interest and/or developmental needs?
By adding the wedges to the regular blocks the children can use their problem solving skills to figure out how to use the cars and blocks together.
3. Was the project approved in advance by your supervising teacher?
Yes.
4. Were all your materials prepared prior to presenting the project?
Yes.
5. Was your project effectively presented? How could you tell?
Yes the children immediately started playing with the wedges and blocks together.
6. Did you convey enthusiasm and interest to the children? If yes, how did you do this? If no, why not?
I showed my enthusiasm by making comments when needed and my interest by sitting on the floor next to where they were playing.
7. Did the children convey interest and enthusiasm in the project? How could you tell?
I could tell they were interested because I didn’t even get a chance to explain to them before they jumped in and started to use the wedge blocks with cars and the other blocks.
8. Was each of your objectives well met?
Yes.
9. Was your project age appropriate?
Yes.

Improve: by providing more time to manipulate the materials
Extend: by watching what they do with the materials and seeing how I could further their learning experiences.

I saw the children playing with the blocks and cars together, so I thought of adding the wedges to continue their learning experiences.
