Hello,
My name is Jessica Holden. I am 32 years old and I live in the wonderful state of California in the small town of Groveland located just outside of Yosemite National Park. I have lived in Groveland my whole life, as well as my Mom, and my Grandmother moved here in 1942. Having living in this county my entire life I feel a real sense of responsibility to make a difference in the community that I live in. I have been married to my best friend Tom for 11 years and we have one dog, a 6 year old English Bulldog named Bodie.I have been working in the Early Childhood education field since December 2007. While I was obtaining my AA in Liberal Studies and an AS in Child Development at Columbia Community College I was able to work at the college Child Development Center as a student teacher in the preschool, toddler, and infant center. I loved working will all ages but I realized that I preferred to work with preschool age children the best. After I graduated I was hired at Head Start in a Teacher II position. I have thoroughly enjoy working in for Head Start. The way Head Start brings together children, families, and the community is something that I connect with on a personal and professional level. After about a year and a half the opportunity to interview for a Lead Center Teachers position presented itself. I am now happy to say that I was hired as the Lead Center Teacher for a Head Start Full Inclusion Preschool Program and I love it! This is my second year in this program and I am so lucky to be able to work with the professionals that I do and play a part in educating the children and families in my program. I have such a passion for working with young children, their families, and my community. Working in this field allows me to help young children reach their potential through developmentally appropriate activities and experiences. I live to see that "Ah ha" moment in a child's eyes when they have grasped a concept that was too abstract or difficult before.
