Student Teacher Activity Evaluation
Form
Name: Jessica Holden Date: 2/14/11
Type/Title of Project: Dump Trucks and Shopping Carts
Supervising Teacher: Kathy Diener
2.How does your project build on a child/children’s interest and/or developmental needs? They use their gross motor skills to walk, run, and steer the dump trucks and shopping carts. Language development when they build on concrete experiences.
3. Was the project approved in advance by your supervising teacher?
Yes.
4.Were all your materials prepared prior to presenting the project?
Yes.
5. Was your project effectively presented? How could you tell?
Yes, they loved playing with the materials I added to the outside environment. They were laughing and conversing with their teachers and peers.
6. Did you convey enthusiasm and interest to the children? If yes, how did you do this? If no, why not?
Yes I conveyed enthusiasm to them about the materials but I let them use the materials any way they wished. It was an open ended experience.
7. Did the children convey interest and enthusiasm in the project? How could you tell?
Yes. The only thing that could have made it more successful would have been to have more dump trucks and shopping carts. It can be difficult for toddlers to share materials so having more would just lessen the conflicts between each other.
8. Was each of your objectives well met?
Yes.
9. Was your project age appropriate?
Yes.
10. All things considered, how would you rate your project?
10 out of 10 It went really well.
11.How do you plan to improve and extend this project?
Improve: provide more vehicles
Extend: Add a different variety of vehicles. They are many different types of work trucks that I could add to the dump trucks.
