Building Family & Community Relationships
Having open communication is extremely important in working in a child care setting. Having a meeting for the purpose of getting to know what the parent expects from you can help you better understand each other. It is beneficial to the staff, the parents, and even children to keep open communication. Keeping the parents and staff up to date on a child can be helpful in creating activities to further that child’s growth and development at the child care center and at home. Something as simple as a news letter can keep parents involved and up to date on current issues.
